The Mary Baker Eddy Library
Tuesday, March 22, 2016, 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm EST (1-2 CST) WEBCAST: “The Education of a Christian Science Military Chaplain” Join The Mary Baker Eddy Library and the Boston University School of Theology for a discussion about Christian Science chaplaincy within the larger context of military ministry.
The event will be broadcast from the campus of the Boston University. Moderated by Jonathon Eder of The Mary Baker Eddy Library, the program will bring together people who educate and train chaplains, who are currently studying to enter military ministry, and who have served in the profession. Panelists include Dr. Shelly Rambo, assistant professor at the Boston University School of Theology; Chaplain (COL) Janet Horton, United States Army (Ret.), one of the first women ever to serve in military ministry, and now Christian Science Endorser for chaplain candidates; Cpt. Matthew Schmidt, who serves a United States Army reserve unit in Newport, RI; and Sarah Sampas and Brian Bort, both preparing to be Christian Science military chaplains and in their final year of the Boston University Master of Divinity.
The event offers online videostream as well as audiocast options. As with all Mary Baker Eddy Library webcasts, questions and comments from listeners and viewers will guide the discussion.
